St Aloysius' College was founded on 12th September 1859
Aloysian Association Mass
Sunday 21st June 2009, 3.00pm

Mass for the Aloysian Association will be celebrated at St Aloysius' Church. The principal celebrant will be Bishop Moran OA. Other celebrants will include Fr Michael Holman SJ, Provincial of the British Province of the Society of Jesus, and Old Aloysian priests.

During Mass the College Choir will give the first performance of the anthem "Serenity" by the world renowned composer, James MacMillan. This music was composed especially for our 150th anniversary.

All members of the Aloysian community are welcome. This includes past and present pupils, parents, staff, friends and benefactors.

Mass for the Junior School

Mass for pupils and staff of the Junior School will be celebrated at St Aloysius' Church. Archbishop Conti will be principal celebrant. Parents of the Junior School are welcome to attend this Mass.

Mass for the Senior School

Mass for the pupils and staff of the Senior School will be celebrated at

St Aloysius' Church. Cardinal O'Brien will preside at Mass, he will be joined by Bishop Moran, Fr Holman SJ and other priests, both Jesuit and secular. Unfortunately, because of lack of space, parents will not be able to attend.

Prize Giving

Prize Giving is for all pupils from P5 to S6. Tickets, which are free of charge, will be available from the College reception (Tel: 0141-332-3190, e-mail Reception@staloysius.org). Families are welcome. The guest of honour will be Lord Gill OA, the Lord Justice Clerk.

Civic Reception
Saturday 12th September 2009, 7.00pm

The Civic Reception, at which the College will be the guests of the Lord Provost, will take place at the City Chambers. This formal dinner is limited to 200 guests.

Gala Sesquicentennial Concert
Tuesday 17th November 2009, 7.00pm
Glasgow Royal Concert Hall

The College Orchestra and Choirs, joined by an enlarged Junior School Choir, consisting of the whole of P4-P7, will take part in an engaging programme that will include Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, and the first performance of a new work by Howard Goodall, Classic FM's Composer of the Year.

All are welcome to attend this gala concert. Tickets are available from here.

College Prayer Book

A prayer book for use in school and by families and individuals will be published in late November, early December. It will consist of a selection of scripture readings, prayers, reflections and poetry/prose passages. The unifying theme of the prayer book will be establishing right relationships with God, each other and creation.
