Spreadsheets are programs designed for storing and performing calculations on numbers. A typical spreadsheet will look like the following:
A spreadsheet is made up of individual cells. These cells are arranged in numbered rows and lettered columns. Each cell has its own address made up of column letter and row number, e.g. A1, C8, F12 etc. One cell may contain values, labels or formulae. In our course the spreadsheet program we will use is Microsoft Excel. |
