In your copy of the letter, there are many omissions and mistakes that will be dealt with over the next few tasks.

There are also pieces of text in red. This text will be substituted with your information.

    1. Open up your letter and start to swap the red text with information of your choice.
  •

You will now have to get the address into the right position on the screen.

    • Highlight your address by clicking and dragging the mouse across the address.
    • Choose right align from the home tab on the ribbon as shown below
    • Your text should now move to the right hand side (note that it was originally set to the left. This is the default alignment - what it is set to before you change it).
    • Try out Align left and Align center
    • Now re-position your text to the right.

    • Highlight all of the letter from Dear Sir/Madam down to your name
    • Click on the Justify button as shown below.

You have now used the alignment buttons

Right align - puts text to the right hand edge of the document

left align - puts text to the left hand edge of the document

center - centers each line of text

Justify - spaces out text to make both edges as even as possible
