Investigative Drama.
In this unit, pupils will be devising and performing a presentation
on a chosen issue, topic or theme. By the end of the unit, each pupil
will have taken responsibility for an identifiable section of the
presentation, have contributed to the presentation process and final
presentation, and have evaluated the effectiveness of the final presentation.
During the unit pupils will keep a folio of plans, minutes of production
meetings, script, directorial notes, rehearsal diary and the designs
for lighting, costumes, props, set and sound. This folio along with
the results of the questionnaire filled in by the audience at the
performance will help inform for the end of unit test which is an
essay evaluating the planning and rehearsal process, and the effectiveness
of the final performance.

This module consists of reading, studying, discussing, acting out
extracts of and writing about a contemporary Scottish play.

Reading, studying, note-making, discussing, analysing, acting out

Reading, studying, note-making, discussing, analysing, acting out
and writing essays on a selection of plays

5.7 – Dramatic Commentary
Reading and acting out extracts from ‘The Crucible’ and
preparing them for performance from a director’s point of view,
annotating the script with directorial notes.

Continuing studying script, working on extract for Acting Examination,

Reading and studying more plays, working on extract for Acting Examination,
essay writing.

Selecting, discussing and rehearsing an extract from 'The Crucible'
and another from a Scottish play.
