Module 2.2 – Population

Demography; distribution of population; population pyramids and graphs; problems of an aging population and problems of a young population; human migration in the developed and developing areas of the world; push and pull factors; growth of cities in the developed and developing world.

Module 2.3 – Physical Landscapes

The formation of mountains by glaciation; erosional and depositional features; development of river geomorphology; human use and abuse of the physical landscape; pollution.

Module 2.4 – Negative Areas

The empty lands; rainforests, tundra and hot deserts; exploitation and development; the native population; local and global environmental impact.

Module 2.5 – Environmental Issues

Global warming; destruction of the ozone layer; acid rain; destruction of the rain forests; the creation and the disposal of waste.

Module 2.6 – Japan

The economic growth, the people, the physical area and the resources of Japan.
