1.1 – Energy

Types of energy classified broadly as action in energies and potential energies; the law of conservation of energy; energy transfer and transfer devices; the unit of energy, the joule and its use in energy transfer calculations; heat and temperature; measurement of temperature; graphing techniques

1.2 – Electricity

The nuclear atom; simple particle physics; electric charge, attraction and repulsion; static electricity in everyday situations, electric currents, conditions for current flow; circuit symbols and circuit diagrams; measurement of current and voltage; classification of materials as conductors and insulators; batteries and voltage; simple series and parallel circuits.
