Alexander Früh awarded for achieving 100% in Advanced Higher Mathematics

On Wednesday 13th September Alexander Früh was invited by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries to the Assembly Halls in Edinburgh to receive an award for his achievement in Advanced Higher Mathematics. Alexander was one of only two pupils in Scotland to achieve 100% in the exam this year.

Dr Kilgour accompanied Alexander to the award ceremony and commented, "This is a huge achievement. Not only is Alexander an outstanding mathematician but he also has an unquestionable eye for detail. To get through the entirety of this demanding exam without making a single minor error is highly impressive and a true reflection of Alexander’s talents."

Alexander has a place at the University of Cambridge to study Mathematics. After his gap year he will take up his place to commence his studies at Queens’ College, Cambridge in October 2018. We wish him every success.

The College is very proud that we have had two pupils who have achieved 100% in the Advanced Higher Mathematics exam in the last two years. Last year Imogen West achieved the College’s first 100% and is now in her second year of studying Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh. We wish all those pupils studying Advanced Higher Mathematics this year every success!
