Glasgow City 7s Rounds off Fantastic Year for Aloysian Rugby

Personal Excellence

St Aloysius’ College's Senior Rugby 7s Squad rounded off a year of success with victory at the NCS Glasgow City 7s Under-18 Cup.

The S5 and S6 Aloysians competed in the Under-18s competition at the 12th annual NCS Glasgow City 7s at Cartha Queen’s Park Rugby Football Club against some tough opposition but showed great teamwork, skill and determination to emerge deserving winners.

The very same squad of players won the prestigious Hutchesons’ Grammar 7s for St Aloysius’ College for the second year in a row back in March and were clearly determined to add the Glasgow City 7s to the College trophy collection.

The St Aloysius’ College team won 17 – 5 against Glasgow Hutchesons Aloysians Rugby Club and 44 – 0 against Cartha Rugby Club in the group stages of the Glasgow City 7s before beating the West of Scotland select squad 24 – 10 in the final.

The St Aloysius’ College Squad for the Hutchesons’ Grammar 7s and the Glasgow City 7s competition included Martin Hughes, Liam Nolan, Rory McDonald, Joseph Skivington, Jonathan Scott, Jacob Siems, Michael Hughes, Michael Dunn, Thomas Mullen and Ennis McCreadie.
