ST ALOYSIUS' COLLEGE
SCHOOL HANDBOOK

CONTACTING the SCHOOL

In dealing with enquiries, letters, concerns or complaints from parents, College staff will try their best:

The school is very large and for matters to be dealt with efficiently it is important that they are directed to the most appropriate person:

in the Junior School

  • day-to-day questions or concern

the Class Teacher
or Head of Section

  • more serious concerns or complaints

the Head of Section

in the Senior School
  • concerns about teaching, homework, or progress in a particular subject

the Head of Faculty

  • concerns about a pupil's welfare, behaviour, school life or studies

the Housemaster

In the Junior School, the Class Teacher is happy to speak to parents about everyday concerns and minor problems. Parents are asked to make contact by "booking in" at reception. If the teacher is available a meeting can often be arranged there and then; if not the parent will be seen by the Head of Section or an appointment made for another time. Parents must not go directly to the classroom to see the teacher.

In the Senior School, contact should be made with the Housemaster or Head of Faculty. Parents are asked not to contact individual subject teachers directly.

If you are dissatisfied with the response you have received or with the resolution of a matter, please write directly to the Head Master.

You will find a list of contact 'phone numbers and email addresses on the school website.

The school has a Complaints Policy.
