The College's use of IT

St Aloysius' College is committed to the innovative and extensive use of information technology in teaching, administration and communication with parents.

College families need to have at home a computer connected to the internet.

Few communications with parents are now conducted by letter. Notices and information are published on the College website.

Pupils' reports are also published securely on the internet. From 2003-04 parents will no longer have the option of a paper copy of reports and Junior School reports will also be published on the web for the first time.

An extensive resource for homework, revision and learning is being developed for Senior School pupils on our Myrtle website. Pupils will increasingly need to use the internet at home to access this resource. In some courses all learning materials and homework assignments are entirely web-based and homework is to be submitted by email.

Pupils have extensive access to computers in school (in the Clavius Building and in the Library) and can print hard copies of material if they or their parents are unable to access it at home.

Pupils are required to abide by the school's ICT Policy and rules.
