Music at St Aloysius’ College makes a significant contribution to our curriculum. All pupils take class music, largely practical in nature, until the end of S2 when a substantial number of pupils elect to continue with the subject to Intermediate 2, Higher and Advanced Higher. The Department enjoys the services of 25 visiting instrumental teachers and more than 300 individual lessons are given weekly.
The Senior School has an orchestra, three bands, a Choir some 120 strong, and a Chapel Choir which as well as providing music for College liturgies gives three major concerts each year. Recent works performed include Mozart’s Requiem, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Mozart’s Symphony no 40 and Monteverdi’s L’Incoronazione di Poppea. Go to Drama / Art
