Art and Design

The children of St Aloysius’ College Junior School are encouraged to be creative, using a variety of media and techniques in art and craftwork.

An awareness of colour, shape, balance, focus and proportion are developed alongside the use of symbols to convey ideas and feelings. The study of a wide range of artists, craftspeople and designers complements this work.

As the children progress through the Junior School Art and Design curriculum they grow in confidence in their knowledge of the subjects and a number of skills, including: exploring and developing ideas; investigating and producing art, craft and design; and evaluating and developing artwork.
