A Jesuit school is one founded by the Society of Jesus and recognised as part of the current apostolic mission of a Jesuit Province. The following criteria are offered as aids to such recognition. First of all there is a statement outlining the vision that the Province has of its schools, this is followed by a series of distinguishing principles which attempt to identify the ethos in such schools, and finally there is a profile of a Jesuit school leaver. This document is offered to interested staff, parents and governors of schools in the Trusteeship of the British Jesuit Province. It is intended to be read in conjunction with the 'Characteristics of Jesuit Education' and the individual school mission statements.
