Mark Ford of S1 continued to achieve great things in swimming when he earned two gold medals at the Scottish National Age Group Championships and set two new record times for a 12 year old Scottish swimmer in the process.

The Aloysian won gold medals in the U13s 200m Butterfly and 50m Backstroke and Silver medals in the U13s 50m and 100m Butterfly at the national championships held at Tollcross International Swimming Centre in Glasgow.

Making his success even more impressive, Mark set two new record times for a 12 year old Scottish swimmer with his times of 31.06 seconds in the 50m Backstroke race and 1.03.67 seconds in 100m Butterfly race.

Earlier this year, the S1 St Aloysius’ College pupil broke the Scottish National Record for 50m Butterfly which had stood for 11 years back in January when he won gold at the Scottish Swimming Championships in Aberdeen, where he was also presented as the best 12 and Under swimmer overall.

Mark also enjoyed success at the West District Swimming Championships where he won Gold Medals in the 400m Individual Medley, the 100m Butterfly and the 200m Butterfly and was named Clydesdale Junior Male Sports Personality of the Year 2015.
