House System Reintroduced into Senior School

At Tuesday’s ‘Celebrating Success’ assembly the House System was reintroduced to the pupils in the Senior School.

The College has four houses, Gonzaga, Loyola, Ogilvie, and Xavier, each named after a notable Jesuit Saint. During the assembly a pupil representative from each of the four houses provided some background on the each of the Saints. Pupils from across the school then explained what they had done to earn house points for their house. Examples ranged from working hard in class to representing Scotland at sport.

Finally, Miss Lawrie, who is responsible for the House System, gave pupils an opportunity to earn house points for their house. Led by a member of staff, pupils were asked to read a house prayer, and those who read with most clarity were awarded points.

Mr Bartlett, the headmaster (who claims he is not affiliated with any house!), judged the competition. The results are as follows:

4th : Gonzaga

3rd : Loyola

2nd : Ogilvie

1st : Xavier

We look forward to seeing how each house fares in the coming academic year!
