Humzah selected for YOYP 2018 Youth Panel

Year of Young People 2018 is a platform for young people to come together giving them a stronger voice on issues which affect their lives, and to showcase their ideas and talents.

As part of the YOYP 2018 project, Humzah Razzaq (S3) has been selected to take part in ‘BBC Scotland’s Next youth panel’ over the next 18 months. The panel will collaborate with other young people and BBC staff to challenge the perception of young people and help shape new and exciting ideas for BBC television, radio, social media and websites.

Humzah was one of the youngest participants to get selected for this Youth panel at just 14 years old and was also one of 30 people chosen from over 200 applicants in Scotland!

As part of the team looking at ‘Health & Wellbeing’ Humzah is making sure young people have the chance to lead healthy, active lives and understand the importance of mental health and resilience. As well as this, he has featured in one of the Young Scot projects ‘My Story 365’ where every day of the year, the story of a young person is shared in Scotland.
