S1 Coding gets Thumbs-Up as P3 test their Original Computer Games

S1 Computing students were delighted to showcase their hard-work and creativity to Junior School pupils when the younger Aloysians visited the College’s Senior School Computing Labs to play test original games which S1 pupils had devised, programmed and coded themselves.

Primary 3 made the exciting journey up Hill Street to the Clavius Building where Senior School pupils had been putting together the finishing touches to their original computer games.

Using a website called Scratch, S1 Computing pupils were able to program their very own interactive stories and animations, and create imaginative games for their fellow Aloysians to enjoy.

In one of the games, the player controlled a reindeer who collected snow-flakes against the clock and in another, which was set in the jungle, the player catapulted bananas to hungry monkeys whilst avoiding an angry tiger.

The range of games also called on the players to navigate winding courses, look after a virtual pet and shoot down dragons attacking a medieval castle.

With so many fun and original games to enjoy, the Junior School pupils were thoroughly entertained throughout their visit to the Senior School and the S1 pupils received positive reviews across the board for their impressive and imaginative creations.
