Schola Performance is Fit for a King on Tour of Windsor

The Junior Schola Choirs of St Aloysius’ College were invited to sing in two of Britain’s most historic places of worship during a choral visit to Windsor.

The Schola Puellarum and the Schola Puerorum visited Windsor during the summer holidays and gave two excellent performances in Ascot Priory and the famous St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

The young Aloysians sang beautifully in Ascot Priory, which was a mother house of the Society of the Most Holy Trinity founded 1845 and is now a centre for Retreat and Spiritual Renewal.

The second choral performance proved to be a highlight of the trip as the Junior Schola were given the privilege of leading Evensong in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

Home of the Order of the Garter and the resting place of King Henry VIII, St George’s Chapel is located inside the grounds of the Royal Family’s Windsor Castle and is a truly special place for young choral singers to perform.

The St Aloysius’ College pupils were very well catered for throughout the trip thanks to the wonderful hospitality of St John’s Beaumont Boarding School and their time in England was rounded off with an exciting day out at Thorpe Park.
