Make a Difference

Visit to the Glasgow Children's Hospital

As part of our Lenten Charity Appeal a representative from each form class visited the Glasgow Children’s Hospital on Wednesday afternoon. The purpose of this visit was to show our young people how the money they raise, during Advent and Lent, enhances the equipment and services that the hospital can provide- from the latest medical equipment and research to family support services and innovative play programs, including the teddy bear hospital (see photo).

There was also the opportunity to find out about volunteer opportunities, where our young people can make a difference to the lives of young patients and their families by giving up a few hours of their time each week.

Next week these representatives will share this information and experience with the rest of their Form Class in the hope that it will motivate our pupils to support such a worthwhile charity.

Currently S4 have raised approximately £1500 and they hope to increase this total to £2000 by organising an Easter Egg Hunt, Sponge the Teacher and a Charity Staff Vs Pupil football match.
