Departments

The Art Department is situated on the first and second floor of the Mount Building.  The department offers a wide range of challenging and enjoyable design and expressive units for students of all ages.

This allows students to develop their skills through a wide variety of media including observational drawing, design and textiles. Along with Art and Design we offer Graphic Communication and we have a computer suite to enable pupils to develop their skills in computer aided design.

Our results in Art and Design Advanced Higher, Higher and National 5 have been excellent over a number of years but we encourage and enable all pupils to develop their drawing and design skills within the department.

Pupils are encouraged to enter a number of Art competitions throughout the year and we hold an Art Exhibition to highlight the excellent work of our senior pupils.  We have an Artist in Residence who works with pupils in special projects.
