Admissions during Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak

During the Coronavirus outbreak, we are unable to carry out tours or Taster Days for prospective families.

Every child you see in a Green Blazer today has been through his or her own admissions journey. Usually, applications should be submitted by mid-January prior to the Entrance Assessment in order to secure your child's place the following academic year. However, depending on places available, we can accept applications throughout the year whether you are looking for your child to join us at the beginning of the school year in August or mid-term.

Each journey is unique to the individual child and family, however, here is a timeline to help you understand the general route from interest to admission:


Prospective parents and pupils are invited to attend our annual Open Evening.

In November, applications also open for the following year. Applicants from Primary 4 to Senior 6 must include the ‘Green Blazer Story’ - a short essay about themselves and what they hope to achieve in the Green Blazer - their hobbies and interests, favourite subjects and ambitions. This should be handwritten and as a guide should be no more than 500 words. Please note, if your child has any additional support needs or supporting documentation, please include it with your application - it is very important to us that we meet the needs of every child.


Bursary applications must be submitted in full in December, with all relevant documentation. 


Applications should be submitted by mid-January prior to Getting to Know You meetings and Entrance Assessment. Before the Entrance Assessment, we will invite you and your child to meet with one of the senior management team at one of our 'Getting to Know You' meetings to find out more about your child's interests. We will inform you of the date and time of your meeting at the start of January. The Entrance Assessment for P2-S2 will be held on a Saturday in January. Kindergarten and Primary 1 assessments will be held separately in January and April (Kindergarten 1). S3 - S6 applicants do not sit a formal assessment. Offer letters, along with parental contracts, are sent out in early February. If you choose to accept an offer of a place at the College, please send back your signed parental contract along with the deposit by the date specified on your offer letter.

Your child will attend an Orientation Day at the College so that they know what to expect when they start at their new school. All new parents are invited to attend a New Parents Meeting, designed to welcome our new families into the Aloysian community.


The first day of term arrives as your child marks the true beginning of his or her own Green Blazer story.
