Ignatian Academic Excellence Scholarship

The Ignatian Academic Excellence Scholarship has been established by St Aloysius’ College, Glasgow to recognise and nurture pupils who demonstrate outstanding academic potential, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to the Jesuit values of service, integrity, and a lifelong love of learning.  The Ignatian Academic Excellent Scholarship will offer up to 50% off fees for applicants into S1 & S2 August 2026.

In keeping with the College’s Ignatian tradition, the scholarship aims to support high-achieving pupils who not only excel academically but also show the moral purpose and reflective character expected of “men and women for others.” The scholarship encourages scholars to pursue ambitious academic goals while contributing meaningfully to the life of the school.

Eligibility

Applicants may be considered for the Ignatian Academic Excellence Scholarship if they:

• Demonstrate exceptional performance in entrance assessment
• Demonstrate exceptional performance in Academic Scholarship Assessment
• Show alignment with the values and ethos of St Aloysius’ College
• Perform extremely well in interview with Senior Leadership Team

Award Structure

The scholarship may take the form of:

• A partial remission of tuition fees, up to 50% off yearly fees
• S1 & S2 applicants can apply for the scholarship
• Scholarships are applied from S1 (S2) – S6
   

Expectations of Scholars

Recipients are expected to:

• Maintain high academic standards throughout their time at the College
• Contribute positively to the scholarly community
• Participate in enrichment, service, and leadership activities representing the values of the College
