Aloysians tour Parishes in Mary’s Meals Fundraising Drive

Aloysians tour Parishes in Mary’s Meals Fundraising Drive

Make a Difference

St Aloysius’ College pupils Scarlett Morris S1, Jessica McGowan S1 and Lucy Docherty S2 set up stalls in their local Parishes last weekend to sell hand-made Christmas cards to help raise money for Mary’s Meals and respond to the Pope’s call during the Holy Year of Mercy.

Scarlett, Jessica and Lucy went to several Parishes in Bothwell and Uddingston to sell hand-made Christmas Cards which they created at the St Aloysius’ College Charity Club each Tuesday after school.

Selling their beautifully crafted Christmas Cards to parishioners in their local churches, the Aloysians managed to raise £781.55 for Mary’s Meals, and with the UK Government’s pledge to double all donations to £1563.10, enough to feed 128 children in their place of education for a whole year.

The efforts were part of the Starfish Project which has been launched across various Parishes and Churches in Bothwell and Uddingston to coincide with the Pope's extraordinary Holy Year of Mercy.
