Delight in Learning

The Silver & Gold Duke of Edinburgh teams had a fantastic time taking part in their practice expeditions over the September long weekend in Perthshire. Thankfully the weather was much better than the previous stormy few days allowing for a great experience for all, even if it was a little chilly overnight!

There were 3 Silver canoe groups and 2 Silver walking groups taking part in a 3-day expedition, plus a Gold boys Cairngorm Mountain practice expedition and Gold girls canoe trip.

The Gold boys took in an ascent of a Munro on route and practiced their high-end navigation needed for such terrain. The Gold girls completed the length of a Silver expedition in just over a day & a night, river paddling on day 3 and whitewater rescues day 4.

Mr Bagshaw, Director of Outdoor Education, commented that all teams did extremely well and was particularly impressed by the amount of energy and enthusiasm shown by all teams over the weekend.

“Our theme was based around the ‘A-Team’ and many teams were certainly living up to A-Team status!“

Well done all!
