Spoken with Clarity: S2 Pupils Represent College at Public Speaking Competition

Two S2 pupils represented the school with passion and clarity at the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service Public Speaking Competition.

The long running competition, hosted at Eastbank Academy, has a theme of diversity and equality. With only a night to prepare and rehearse the speech, Alex Carson (S2) and Charlotte Norton (S2) spoke brilliantly on this year’s specific focus on the impact of social media on equality. They ‘could not have performed any better even if they’d had a month to rehearse’, praised Mr Ruddy. ‘That it was all done overnight is testimony to their talent’.

The judge’s decision finally went against the girls, but they should not be too disappointed. The pair spoke with an articulate confidence that they should be proud of, particularly given this was their first outing as representatives of St Aloysius. Congratulations to all involved in the Public Speaking Club, where there is clearly plenty of talent.
