Commonwealth Gold Medalist Congratulates Benedict on Judo Win

Personal Excellence

Promising St Aloysius’ College Judo star, Benedict MacLennon-Patton of S3, won the Gold Medal at Judo Scotland’s Ultimate Grand Prix in Edinburgh’s Medowbank Arena and received congratulations from a Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist.

Competing in the U81 KG Cadet category, Benedict performed well to fend off strong competition and take home the Gold Medal, adding to the impressive collection earned over the past few years from Judo events all over the UK.

To top off his memorable victory, the S3 pupil was presented with his prize by three-time Olympian and Commonwealth Games Gold Medal winner, Sarah Clark.

Benedict, pictured in action below performing the winning throw of his first fight at the Judo Scotland Ultimate Grand Prix, will be one of the many sporting Aloysians to benefit from the College’s brand new Sports Facility.

Currently under construction, St Aloysius’ College’s new on-campus Sports Facility will include a full-size sports hall, a dance-studio and a multi-gym where Benedict will be able to train for strength and conditioning.
