Junior School pupils raise £1992.18 for Mary's meals

Junior School pupils raise £1992.18 for Mary's meals

Make a Difference

Last week we had a visit from Joe and Max from Mary's Meals to present them with their cheque which represents all the hard work our pupils have put into the charity over the last few months.

Our Junior School have been involved with Mary’s Meals for over 10 years. They have recently sent around 2000 backpacks to Malawi and the cheque donation last week was a combination of money which was raised through our Christmas fair, birthday donations and ‘Donate a Dinner’ cards.

All donations to Mary’s Meals were doubled by the charity before Christmas, and their incredible generosity raised the tremendous total of £1992.18 which means that 142 children will be fed for a whole school year as a result of this donation!

Joe, who has been the Education Officer working with us over the past few years, was absolutely delighted to receive the cheque from the children.  He takes up a new role within the charity next week, and said it was extra special to spend his final day with our pupils, whom he has gotten to know so well over the past few years.

Joe, and Max(who will be our new Education Officer), then joined the P6 and P7 children for a Q&A session which the children thoroughly enjoyed.
