S1 Investigate the History of Medicine

Our History and Modern Studies department were thrilled recently to welcome Debra Davis from the Royal College of Physicians to speak to our S1s on their topic of the history of medicine. Debra brought in with her a variety of weird and wonderful medical items from throughout the ages – some of which required special dispensation just to leave the building!

Our young historians were fascinated and entertained by a day of interactive exhibits on campus today. From learning about medicines throughout history to becoming crime scene investigators, we learned how far the medical sector has progressed from medieval doctors using leeches to cure ills to modern-day fingerprint technology.
