St Aloysius' College Celebrates Record-Breaking Exam Results 2016

The College is once again celebrating a record-breaking set of SQA examination results.

Higher pupils in S5 achieved the best results ever recorded at St Aloysius’ College, with 69% of all S5 entries achieving A-grades. This represents a significant 5% rise in Higher A-grades from last year. The overall pass-rate of 97% is also a College record.

34% of pupils gained 5 or more A-grades (four were awarded six As) and 61% gained 3 or more A grades – again, the best results the College has achieved to date.

In S6, pupils achieved the best-ever Higher results at that level, with 53% of entries achieving A-Grades and 97% of all entries attaining a pass. The number of pupils achieving a pass at Advanced Higher also improved by two per cent, with 46% achieving A-grades.

There were more improvements made at National 5 level, with a two per cent rise in pass rate and 65% of pupils achieving A-grades.

Frank Reilly, Head of Senior School, praised the hard work and determination of all pupils whilst highlighting the key role of staff and parents in guiding young Aloysians to achieve their best.
