Administrative Assistant - Christian Formation

£17,625 (pro rata) per annum – Term time (30 hours per week)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced administrator to provide skilled professional and administrative support to the Christian Formation team.  Located in Glasgow city centre close to many amenities and transport links, the College is a vibrant a welcoming place to work.

The post-holder will carry out a wide variety of administrative duties including organising complex logistical arrangements for our retreat programmes, maintaining comprehensive records for training programmes and conferences and providing minute taking for the Jesuit Mission and Identity Committee.  In addition, the successful applicant will be required to carry out other ad hoc administrative duties, including the provision of reception cover.

Applicants must be educated to HNC/HND in an administrative discipline, or have gained significant administrative experience, and must also possess advanced Word and Excel skills.  In addition, the successful candidate will be highly organised, with the ability to work under pressure and have experience of working with sensitive data whilst maintaining confidentiality at all times.  As this role requires extensive liaison with pupils, parents, staff and external agencies, the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels is essential. A willingness to undergo additional training and development as required is also essential.

The normal hours of work will be 30 hours per week, however some degree of flexibility will be required as a limited number of evenings and weekends will be necessary in the role. However, the hours are not likely to exceed 130 hours per month.  Although the role is a term time position, you will be required to work 4 weeks out with term i.e. 3 weeks during the summer vacation period plus 1 week during the February, Easter or October mid- term holidays.

The post-holder does not need to be a Roman Catholic but must be sympathetic and supportive of the religious nature and ethos of the College and be willing to become involved in the religious and spiritual life of the community.
