Professor David Hillier is a distinguished academic and senior leader, serving as Associate Principal of University of Strathclyde and Executive Dean of Strathclyde Business School. As Associate Principal for Global Engagement, he fosters international strategic partnerships across 25 global institutions, enhancing the university’s global presence. His leadership has driven significant growth and the establishment of innovative programmes like the Breaking Barriers initiative for individuals with learning difficulties and the establishment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s first-ever foreign branch campus in the country’s history.
He is a visiting professor at Peking University and Politecnico di Milano and sits on the board and mentors several international institutions, including Comillas Pontifical University, Madrid.
Hillier’s accolades include IoD Scotland Public Sector Director of the Year, UK Business School of the Year and Outstanding Contribution by a Business Leader (Inspiring City Awards). With extensive experience in governance and finance, he serves as a Non-Executive Director for Skills Development Scotland and chairs its Finance and Operational Performance Committee. As Governor at St Aloysius College, Glasgow, David brings strategic insight, community engagement, global presence and a commitment to educational excellence.
