More Record Breaking Exam Results for 2019

A huge congratulations to last year’s 4th, 5th and 6th-year pupils on yet another year of outstanding examination results for the College.

This year’s SQA examinations have given us more record-breaking results, with 74% of our National 5 results at A grade and 38% of Nat 5 pupils achieving straight A grades in all subjects.

National 5

• 98% pass rate (national attainment level 78.2%)
• 74% at A grade
• 70% of pupils with 5+ A grades
• 38% of pupils achieved all A grades
• 11 subjects with 100% pass rate at Nat 5
• 100% pass rate at Nat 5 English with 81% at A
• 86% A or B grades in Nat 5 Maths
• 100% A/B pass rate for Nat 5 PE with 86.4% at A
• 100% pass rate for Nat 5 French and Italian with 81% at A
• 100% pass rate for Nat 5 Spanish with 91% at A
• 100% pass rate for Nat 5 Drama with 81% at A
• 100% pass rate for Nat 5 Latin with 94% at A
• 100% pass rate for Nat 5 Chemistry with 92% at A or B

Higher

• 96.5% Higher pass rate (national attainment level – 74.8%)
• 84% at A or B grades
• 85% A/B pass rate for Higher English
• 90% A/B pass rate for Higher Maths
• 100% pass rate for Higher Business Management and 65% at A
• 100% pass rate for Higher French and Higher Spanish
• 76% A for Higher Italian (taken at S4)
• 100% A/B pass rate for Higher Geography with 72% at A
• 88% at A or B grade for Higher Human Biology

Advanced Higher

• 93% Advanced Higher pass rate (national attainment level – 79.4%)
• 51% at A grade and 75% at A or B grade
• 100% pass rate for Advanced Higher Biology with 65% at A
• 100% pass rate for Advanced Higher History with 91% at A
• 77% at A or B grade for Advanced Higher Maths
• 100% pass rate for Advanced Higher Music with 100% at A
• 100% pass rate for Advanced Higher Spanish at either A or B
